Pink Phoenix is a Portland-based dragon boat racing team composed of breast cancer survivors. The goal of this rebrand was to create a visual identity that better reflected the team’s core values of strength, perseverance, and independence. A palette of deep, saturated tones was chosen to communicate power and endurance, while the sharp, clean lines of the phoenix symbolize movement, determination, and renewal. Although the client ultimately pursued a different creative direction, this project provided an opportunity to explore how complex themes of recovery and empowerment can be translated into a bold, contemporary visual identity.
